One to One Children
I have been working with children in education for over 20 years and specifically teaching them to sew for the past 17 years. I have taught both boys and girls from ages 7+ and have helped my students grow in confidence and ability. I specialise in working with Neurodiverse students. Your child may be:
- Creative and you would like this to be focused into a more structured direction.
- Already showing creative flair and enjoyment towards the Arts & Crafts.
- Home Educated
- Needing further support due to an Autistic or other statemented diagnosis.
- Need assistance with school projects or exam coursework.
- Find learning at School a challenge and need an outlet to feel less pressured.
- Have a personality that lends itself to learn more effectively on a one-to-one basis.
- Feel anxious or need a creative outlet to thrive in.
- Want to go further with what they are currently being taught.
Lessons are £35.00 per hour and I come to you with a machine (within a 15 mile radius of Stratford-upon-Avon. I will travel further if required but will charge 45p each additional mile). Project materials are charged at cost in addition as they vary due to the items material and their skill level.
During a proposed introductory 10-12 hours, I have a structured course that each child follows to gain the basic hand and machine sewing skills. They will make; A Chicken Pin Cushion, Appliqued Cushion Cover, Lined Flat Bottomed Tote Bag and a lined zipped pouch.
Depending on your child's concentration level, I recommend only booking in 1.5hr slots and we will see how they respond but please contact me if you would like to discuss any specific needs or requirements.
If you would like any further information or to chat anything through please call Vanessa on: 01789 293 770 or using the contact form and I look forward to helping you out!
